My wonderful wife was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is currently recuperating with our daughter.
She loves my singing so we dug out some old cassettes only to realize that she has nothing to play them on.
The few at Amazon give a whole new meaning to the term "Chinese Junk," absolute landfill.
I don't yet need charity and I am willing and eager to pay anything within reason. Please PM me with your asking price.
A picture would be awesome. She hasn't regained full cognition yet.

Have you tried ebay? I've gotten some pretty cheap electronics there (including a very nice Technics stereo cassette deck I bought several years ago for about $35).

Don, If your daughter wants to pick up one local, Walmart or +++ Walmart.com +++ is your friend in this instance. Most Walmart stores stock the rectangular, AC/DC powered portable cassette player of olden times for about $25. Online has some "Walkman" style battery and headphone portables for about $15. I've seen the "Walkman" style in stores too but they are normally sold out. Online you can use the "ship to store" option and avoid shipping charges.

Have you tried Goodwill or Salvation Army? The ones near me almost always have cassette plays for $5 to $10.

Donny, have you located a cassette for your wife yet. I have a new (NIB) Handi-Cassette II. I've had it for years but it has been stored away out on the farm in my garage in a larger box. It's never been used at all and is in excellent and very clean condition. It has everything included that is mentioned in the attached YouTube video review. It has the battery holder and the rechargeable battery pack and the power supply. The Tutorial Cassette is in the Cassette Tray. It is intended to listen to audiobooks it seems but note all of the buttons and controls can be accessed by touch and are big so they may be a good fit if she is also having mobility issues. The speaker is mono and I have not checked to see if the headphones are stereo or not. Watch the attached video and if this fits your needs PM and I can get it out to you this week. Handi-Cassette II EDIT: Just looked at it closer and it is STEREO.... Charlie
