I presently use a digital mixer where of course the surface is on the laptop and then there is a box. I also have a small router that the computer that plugs into the router the Box plugged into the router and my dbx driverack pa2 also plugged into the router this way I can control the mixer and the dbx from either the laptop or I can connect to the laptop via Wi-Fi with a pad and do mixing from front of house. Are there any third-party software that would allow me to communicate with the laptop so that I can control real band

A program like team vieweris exactly what I could use however I do not want to have to rely on the internet just on the local network

You can directly remote to a given machine/device via a Windows network connection. (like Teamviewer without needing TeamViewer; it's been a Windows feature for many years)
The slave needs to allow it, as does the network connectivity (router).
If you know the IP or name of the machine, you can use Run - mstsc
This launches the RDP window and then you can connect to the target using the IP or name.
Once connected the target machine's desktop is displayed locally.

Many times MS documentation gives me a headache or I end up down a rabbit hole, but this one is actually pretty clear.

There is also an RDP app from Windows for Android and iOS, just so you know.
I wouldn't leave you high and dry!

If needed I can remote into production servers from my phone via VPN and RDP. It's all available.
Of course that's a last resort in my case, but the functionality exists.
A stylus comes in handy though when viewing a computer screen on phone .. I'd venture to guess the same applies to Teamviewer.

Be advised, free TeamViewer does have a limit. Use it enough and you'll find that out, and it would be bad if it hit its unexpected end during a show. I used it for a while and it suddenly said I needed to pay.
So RDP has that going for it; free (with OS) and no limits. Plus your connection never has to leave your network. I'm pretty sure Teamviewer goes through a server or two on the internet by design.
RDP doesn't need to if you don't need to.

If you are happy with Teamviewer, cool. It's a good product.
Just wanted to pass along what I know.
