BobbleheadSomething I threw together last year when Di was in the hospital for a week. It was a submission opportunity for a film. The desired effect should include at least four or five of the following emotions: Exotic, Mysterious, Casual, Provocative, Quirky, Subdued Energy, and Happy. Also, it might be something appropriate for a lighter James Bond scene. There was no reference track provided, so I put this together with those thoughts in mind. I didn't get it finished in time to submit. As I listened to this countless times, I found my head bobbing much like a bobblehead doll might ... thus, the title. Alan,
This has the groove! It sounds like early 70s movie music.
Love the feel of this.

Nicely done Alan I agree with Bob above me - definitely gives me a 70's soundtrack vibe, which is never a bad thing. It got my head bobbing too - loved the groove and thought it was great use of the loops here. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Wow, Alan. After reading the daunting task you had to tackle, I can hear that you really got it all in there with flying colors. Total magic, man. Yeah the 70s are well represented. So sad you didn't get to submit it. They don't know how disappointed they are.

Wow, this has to win the award for diversity in RT usage. I don't know how you made that work, but you did. The beat took equal stage with the melody, that was an interesting effect on my brain. Nice work!

Thanx a lot Alan, you have turned me into a bobble head! Not only was my head bobbing my toes were a tapping!
This sounds like something that Herbie Mann would play in the late 60's or early 70's.
Everything about this is perfect!

Bob Thanks a bunch, Bob. And yes, it was to be submitted for a film set in the middle 70s. So, I guess I hit the spot! Many thanks! Best to you ... Alan

Very successful combination of synth pop, modern bossanova and jazzy flute. I didn't know about that flute RT, it plays lovely melody. And the selected RD works perfectly for the pop mood. Enjoyable chord progression with a bit of melancholy. Sounds like a theme music for a nostalgic police TV series.

Alan,
That was awesome.
It is so good that I forgot to listen with an intent to write about what was happening. I truly ended up JUST LISTENING.
I don't think I could give an instrumental a better compliment than THAT.
A great listen.

"Exotic, Mysterious, Casual, Provocative, Quirky, Subdued Energy, and Happy."
Wow, I'd likely get hung on any two of those and never finish.
WTG re great use of BiaB AND capturing the feel of the description.
Cinematic? In spades.
A cool intriguing listen indeed.

That was a nice ride. And I say that because I envisioned this as the music for a car commercial or scene where the characters are tripping in a car. Outstanding production!

'Al-David'... ' Bobblehead', huh? Cute title !!! Music for 'a lighter James Bond', you say? Hmmm... Well, yeah, maybe, but I'd say it reminds me more of the kind of so-called 'lounge music' one would hear in slickly-produced Italian 'B'-movies of the 60's and 70's, such as 1967's Grand Slam starring Edward G. Robinson, Janet Leigh, and an international cast (meaning all dialogue for the Italian, Spanish, German, and Swiss actors was dubbed in monotoned English !!!), with a musical score by Ennio Morricone. Listening your to your composition, it was easy to envision a scene in which the tre chic, handsome male lead (Alain Delon? Jean Paul Belmondo?) attempts to seduce some blonde, spangly-dressed 'pretty, young thing' on a crowded dance floor in a swanky Brazilian nightclub patronized by the most 'upper' of the upper crust. They do the 'The Pony', and 'The Frug', and whatever, while moving closer, even closer to each other as they dance, and just as their moist lips meet in a prolonged, passionate kiss, we cut to the obligatory, but G-rated love scene in the darkly sumptuous bedroom of his smartly-designed apartment overlooking the moonlit Copacabana Beach at Rio de Janiero !!! 'Al-David', you really set a mood with a groove that 'set the scene' (for me, at least) in your irresistibly danceable and sexy composition, Bobblehead . By the way, which athlete's likeness was reproduced in the bobblehead figure that frames your Soundcloud post? LOREN
