CBALAD2.STY Country Ballad w/Pedal Steel

I Got a Good Ramblin’ Man @ Donna J Evans 3/08/20

Verse 1
I got a good lookin’ man
But he rambles around
I got a sweet talkin’ man
Home’s where he lays his hat down
Un Huh Un Huh

I find him when I need too
Call me crazy call me a fool
He always fixes my itches
Cause he’s got just the right tool
Un Huh Un Huh

Bridge
So baby don’t tease me
Come home and please me
You’re not the kind to settle down
But I’ll take what I’ve found
Un Huh Un Huh

Verse 2
If you see me smilin’
My ramblin’ man’s in town
I give him plenty of lovin’
To keep him hangin’ around
Un Huh Un Huh

They say you only go around once
So get it while you can
Love the one you’re with
Find you a good ramblin’ man
Un Huh Un Huh

Bridge
Outro

Haven't been around for a while. Busy writing songs for others, so getting back to trying to do some for me and learning a new DAW.

Nice delivery and clear message. The tambourine and vocal are a bit loud in the mix, but the style works well.

Thanks for sharing.

Good morning, Ms. Belladonna...

Your song's title, I Gotta' Good Ramblin' Man, contains a truly bittersweet 'oxymoron' : the guy is 'good', but he 'rambles around'. Uh-oh, looks like there's gonna be a peck'a trouble at the ol' homestead when he 'lays his hat down' laugh !!!

I heartily agree with 'rsdean's' perception of the gal's 'softness and toughness' that the song reveals.

To my ears, the song's slow-as-molasses-in-January tempo serves to highlight the long, lonely waiting period the gal has to endure as she counts the days, hours and minutes before he returns. It would make a fine theme song for a Western told from a woman's point of view smile.

Your dreamy, unhurried delivery of your lyrics seems to express just a hint of the sadness the gal could feel about the guy's ramblin' ways, even while she sings of the good lovin' he'll give her when he decides to come home. It sets a mood that points out the contrasting feelings that may divide her heart.

Ms. Belladonna, it's a sweet day whenever you re-appear on the User's Forum. Hope you'll stick around a spell smile.

Truly,

LOREN (a.k.a. 'bluage')

Your vocal is really strong and it fits the backing tracks perfectly. Good lyrics also. I really liked the slow groove you have going on here. That was super cool!

Hey Loren,
So nice to hear from you and other old friends on the BIAB site. You are always so insightful and poetic in your observations. I've missed doing my music for a while as I've been writing songs and lyrics for other musician's albumns. Hopefully, this year is for me. Thanks for your insightful comments about this song. It's a little riskay so wasn't sure how it would be received, but was trying to do an old blues style of Bessie Smith or someone. I'm using a new DAW and trying to indulge in the BIAB options. Glad you've checked in. Belladonna

Hey Mario, It's been way too long. Thanks for your nice comments. I glad to see that you are still contributing wonderful music to this site and I hope to get some more songs done this year, maybe even do the album I've been wanting to do so long.

Nice work. Nice BIAB backing band. Fit right in with mood of song. The lyrics were well done. Rather suggestive in some areas which was rather cool and sexy. Good job.

Thank jpt for your comments. Yeah, it's a little riskay as I was trying to do an old blues type song. Hopefully, most adults can handle it. Ha! Ha!

Belladonna,

Nice feel to the song—the style definitely works. Agree the vocal and tambourine are both a bit too upfront in the mix, the vocal being a bit hot as well. But that’s just a bit of EQ’ing. Glad I stopped in to listen--good tune.

Kind regards,

Deej

Country blues - very nice song with a melody that works a treat.
The tambourine seems a little loud and not quite on the beat at times.
Nice.

Cheers
