I imported a midi file from Musescore into BIAB as the melody line.

The mixer shows vibes but it plays a flute and I'd like to change it to a bell sound. Does your imported MIDI have program changes in it? If so, maybe you could change those to the desired program changes before importing. Just another option. MIDI brings weird data in sometimes, and then trying to just add to it or override it can have it's own issues. The part where you said "The mixer shows vibes but it plays a flute" makes me think some patch or program change was in the MIDI you imported. I could be wrong, but if you know how to edit MIDI you may be able to import a MIDI file with the desired sound to begin with.
