BIAB regenerates the piano track, whether MIDI or RealTrack, when you play the song, and overwrites your edits. I believe the only way you could do this easily within BIAB is to Freeze the piano track immediately after doing your edit.

Another possibility with more flexibility is to copy the MIDI piano track to the Melody or Soloist track, which will not be written over when the song regenerates.

If you are altering the notation of a RealTrack piano, know that this notation is often just an approximation of what was played, there for educational value. It may be possible to copy the notation and assign a MIDI piano to it in the Melody or Soloist track, but the resulting sound may not have the performance nuances you want.
