Had to come back to say...

Deej - great job! The "new, new" version is more than a huge improvement - it is just what it should be...

The vocal is still strong and powerful, with the "touch of warmth" it should have without any of the previous "harshness" (that is the wrong word - "high-EQ-ness" is the right word really). It is still clear and sits perfectly in the mix. A joy to listen to - without any caveats.

Well done!

Y'all should both be proud.

Hi James and DJ,

I listened to both your versions. The version I liked most is your 'best' version. It has lest reverb and the vocals ere -in a way- more stronger/ intense. As if it was the last song that ever be sung. The new version didn't give me that feeling. what strucks me is that reverb I mentioned before.
Also in the part you transpose, I had that feeling in the best version it went more smoothly than the other one. But are there big differences? No nothing that I can put my finger on, it's just that feeling the 'best' one is for me the Best one. The singing touched a inner snare, not with the new version. I hope you are not disappointed now, but if you are, I'm sorry.
but I still feel that way...

Hans

Hi Hans, not disappointed at all! In fact, delighted - the "new" version was the first one, the "best" version was the final version. Deej worked his guts out on both, so it would have been strange if the first one was better than the second one! I'm beyond happy that you preferred the final version ... I agree that it keeps the best qualities of the first one and improves upon it. Thank you ever so much for listening!

Floyd said it much better than I could.

The vocal was outstanding and the backing track perfect.

Excellent work.

Hi Guys!

I came back to hear the newest version ... and WOW! This hits the nail squarely on the head! I love the trim of the higher EQ on the vocal ... I think it "settles" better in the mix without losing the emotion and vocal impact. Very nicely done, gentlemen. Take a bow!

Alan

Mario, Josie and Alan: thank you so much for your kind comments! It's all Deej, though ... he did all the remixing, so he gets the credit for it! :-)

I'm just happy that you enjoyed this version of my song, that's all - thank you so much once more for listening and for taking the time to comment!

Greg, TuneMonger, Janice & Bud, Floyd (again), Hans, Mario, Sundance and Al (again):

Thanks all for the listen and positive feedback. And particular gratitude to Al and Floyd pushing be down a better path to a better vocal. James's song deserves nothing less. Hope everybody is staying well!

My best to you all,

Deej
