Krabi province is quite a bit south of us. Things are just beginning to "ramp up" in terms of local response, so they are changing rapidly and suddenly. If you want a "forum" to contact to ask more specific and timely questions beyond the official, I'd recommend thaivisa.com. Most of the time replies are on point and reasonably accurate. Like everywhere on the net, take what is given with a grain of salt and pay attention to the dates of the post. The replies are just from folks. Even the admins are "civilians".
I'd be hesitant to give any answer to any questions because I just don't know their situation, nationality, or what the future holds. I've done little research myself as we have no intention of leaving. I can tell you this, though, there are far worse places in the world to be stuck for a while. Our best to them.
