I don’t have a Mac but from a PC the easiest way is to use iTunes. I would imagine that would even be easier with a Mac,

Simply connect your iPad to a USB port on the PC using the charging cable. Tell the devices to trust one and other then pull the songs across by dropping the songs from the PC folder to the iPad music folder.

Maybe I’m wrong but that is how I go about it on a PC. Usually whilst I’m at it I also backup the iPad to the PC.
