There is not way for a melody created in notation to be played by a guitar RealTrack, but a guitar to MIDI converter like VideoTrack posted about is a good idea.

Additionally, have you tried playing around with User Tracks? It's not a way to program a melody for your guitar per se, but you can record your own guitar playing and use Band-in-a-Box to manipulate it the way you would a RealTrack, putting it over any chord progression and tempo you like. You can then add a melody to it, or change chords frequently and fast enough to make it pretty much a melody.

Sorry, I'm complicit in the hijacking of this thread, but I figured since the OP did it it was all gravy.

As for double monitors, I think that can be a great way to better organize stuff, and the Minimal Screen Mode option in Band-in-a-Box could be pretty useful. With plenty o' floating windows of course.
