I notice that this update also includes RealBand improvements.
Previously RB updates were separate downloads.
Will this work for BIAB2019 and previous versions?

Build 715 is only for BIAB 2020. #644 is the latest build for BIABI 2019.

Apologies for the typo in my previous post. I typed Realband instead of RealTracks.

I'm asking if 715 will allow me to apply the RealTrack updates to my 2019 version.

Thanks, Matt, concise and to the point.

Next question, how do non 2020 owners get the RealTrack update?

We will have to see if an update is released. For most companies, this would never happen with prior releases. PG Music, to its credit, has issued some updates to version 2019 after 2020 was released, so let’s wait and see.

In addition, if the updates only affect RealTracks made for version 2020, they wouldn’t make sense for earlier versions.

At this stage I am not expecting an update for 2019, my question is regarding about how non 2020 users can apply the RealTrack amendments.
As far as I can tell from a quick scan of the RTs listed, there are some from before the 2020 release.

re. your comment on updates for prior releases, I use Fuji cameras and they recently introduced the XT-4 model which supersedes the previous XT-3.
Around the same time they released a firmware update for the XT-3, this has been their policy for some time and I believe fairly common in that business.

Matt said "most," he didn't say all. Yes there are companies that DO issue updates (SW and FIRMWARE) after product is superseded (like your Fuji) but when they do its usually, not I said usually (not always and not never) for a short period of time. it is very seldom an on-going series of updates.

I have racks of synths and effects, as well as multiple high-end workstation keyboards ($2K to well over $3K) from a lot of manufactures Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, Korg, Lexicon, Digitech, Fostex, and others. I do not own a single racked module or keyboard workstation that ever received a single firmware update AFTER a new version model was released. Even when new models are not released a lot of stuff is simply "abandoned" after 18 to 24 months to the point they don't even update PC drivers for their USB or Firewire interfaces when Windows OS went from Win 7 to Win 8, and worse, to Win 10.

Back on point:
I DO agree if there are any RT's that had to be updated for GENERAL issues that are NOT specific to BIAB/RB 2020 implementation of those RT's (i.e., those RT's have usability issues that only occur in 2020 BIAB/RB and not in 2019, 2018,..) then yes I think PG should, as they have done in the past, release a separate RT update.

Email tech support directly and ASK if they plan to update those RT's for 2019 that are in common with 2020 that were "updated" in patch 715.

Yes, I do understand what "most" means, I simply quoted an example within my experience. And yes, I do realise that such updates are not indefinite, typically updates for version 3 will stop when version 5 becomes available, by which time most users will consider the 3 an antique. smile

re. PGM, within the "50 New Features" each year there are usually a large number which are simply updates or improvements to the core programmes. Given PGM's policy of backwards compatibility, these should be issued as a general patch in the same way that RealTrack Patches were previously made available.

I have over the years seen RT updates when issues were found, that reach back to prior versions. Generally some updates are regarding RT enhancements that take place with new features that the older versions do not have. So it really depends.
