In these crazy all consuming days - a little time to mourn… JP.

Make the snow go
Make the wind blow
Let the spring come
Let the sun show

Give the new sky
Some new sunshine
Give this old world
Some more John Prine

Make the outlaw
Make the front door
Let the lock set
Let the hurt roar

Give the new sky
Some new sunshine
Give this old world
Some more John Prine

Run the border
Run the water
Let the fever break
Let it for her

Give the new sky
Some new sunshine
Give this old world
Some more John Prine

BIAB Track:
2914: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Folky16thsBrent

Hope everyone is well - thanks for listening.

Bob

Such a nice tribute to an icon John Prine. We will all miss him, but remember his contribution to the music world.

This is so sad, John Prine was such a legend and contributed so much to the world of Folk and Country. My brother used to play John Prine songs when I was little, so he has a very sentimental place in my heart.

There's a great Kacey Musgraves song about John. It's not entirely work appropriate, so I'd better not post it here, but it's about consuming a certain now-legal (here in Canada) substance with her hero, John Prine. I'm very glad she got to accomplish that goal of hers before he passed.

I'm sure he's wound up sittin' on a rainbow.

Bob, I thought of you immediately when I heard of Mr. Prine's passing. I've always thought there were similarities you had in style and projection of him. I thought at the time he may have been one of your musical influences. Sad to hear of his passing.

Bob,
A heartfelt tribute. I like the way those nananaahs part way through make it feel as if you`re just letting the lyrics come to you spontaneously.
I`m glad you shared the hurt here.

This is a great, obviously heartfelt song about a great singer/songwriter - a wonderful example of how simplicity is beauty, how less can be more.
Thanks for sharing Robert.
Stay well,
Mike

That was very touching. The simplicity of the instrumentation and vocals conveyed your heartfelt emotions. Out of respect for the subject, I will not give you an ovation but will sit in silence for a moment.

Bob,

What a terrific tribute . . . done with your usual fine musical touch. From a production standpoint, that you’ve put together something so stellar using a single track amazes me. A single track—but still so rich and poignant. Beautifully done!

All my best to you,

Deej

Great tribute to one whose music touched most of our lives Bob. It's so heartfelt with the angst of these dark days of so much needless loss.

Hi Bob,

To my shame I didn't know who John Prine was. Looked it up on internet. Now I know (a bit).
Your tribute to him with your song must have flattered him if he could hear it, I would say
Your song is simple but so sweet. And I liked it.
Well done, Bob!

Thanks,
Hans

Bob, the couldn't be a more appropriate tribute to John Prine than this song. The finger picked guitar, a vocal in the vain of John, and the Prine like lyrics. This song has it all.

Outstanding work.

So nice, Bob. Powerful lyric and delivery of same. Touched my heart. Time for mourning. Time for dancing later.
