Hey Beatmaster,
Can I just confirm that you've resolved this for now?
And for anyone else with a similar problem who comes across this:
This is being discussed here:
https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=590966#Post590966You should contact AVG or AVAST and report a false positive, and in the meantime add an exception to bbw (or the bb folder if necessary, since Avast does not provide any information on what it is upset about, it may not be bbw64.exe).
I'm sure some here are tired of my expressing my concern about this advice but I'm glad someone from PGM posted about it so I will repeat my concern.
David, as an official PGM recommendation, are you saying we should add an exception for virus checking to our bb folder?
If so, please advise as to how this might put our computers at risk if PGM were to be hacked and we download and install an infected file to our bb folder. Please don't say it cannot happen because far bigger companies than PGM get hacked from time to time.
I for one do not ever want to "bless" a program and exclude it from checking by my anti-virus program! I am disturbed that this is PGM's recommended solution!
I have been using BIAB since 2012 with my current anti-virus program and upgraded every single time plus most in-between builds. And not once has this problem occurred. So I believe this is something in your latest build and NOT an Avast problem. Also I run a lot of other programs including Adobe's Creative Suite, video production tools and other music production tools.
Not one of them requires me to grant an exception to my anti-virus program!
Please fix BIAB!
