I'm sure some here are tired of my expressing my concern about this advice but I'm glad someone from PGM posted about it so I will repeat my concern.
David, as an official PGM recommendation, are you saying we should add an exception for virus checking to our bb folder?
You can add an exception to bbw64.exe until this issue has been resolved, then you can run Band-in-a-Box in the mean-time.
You can still scan the files for viruses. If you do a targeted scan of the bb folder using Avast, it's clean. If you scan the files with dozens of AV software, they are clean. This is the Avast behavior shield that is doing it (if this shield is disabled, BB boots), so there is some difference in build 715 that is triggering it, however we have not determined what it is at this point.
I will point out that Avast provides no information anywhere about why the behavior shield is blocking the file, even though all of the documentation and settings indicate that it should be reporting something..
