Ever since I've been a forum member Noel96 and others have suggested running a suspected corrupt Band-in-a-Box song file through RealBand to filter or remove the corruption. Surprisingly enough I'd say about 50 per cent of the files I suspect are corrupt become usable after RealBand performs its magic on the file.

The steps are real simple. 1) Save suspected corrupt SGU or MGU file in Band-in-a-Box. 2) Load suspected SGU or MGU corrupt file in RealBand. 3) Save suspected corrupt file under a new name as MGU or SGU file. 4) Load new name SGU or MGU file into Band-in-a-Box. 5) Test new name MGU or SGU file to verify if it does, or does not work.

RealBand does not use all the settings Band-in-a-Box places in a SGU or MGU song file. My suspicion is RealBand changes file settings it doesn't use to default. That's likely because MGU and SGU files are native to Band-in-a-Box and RealBand was modified to import and export those types of files. Since the files are not native to RealBand the program uses defaults for the stuff it doesn't use.
