Actually, if he wants it to sound good on his PA, then the best system to mix on is the PA! It will sound exactly the same, except for the room.

But now he wants to make a CD that plays well everywhere; much different proposition. In this case he said he got it whooped already.
Wonder how he 'solved' it.

I do agree with Wiz, a little soundtreatment can go a long way, if you are serious about it. And good nearfileds, once 'known' save a lot of time for making CD's that transfer well..
