Hi Folks, Started this tune having something completely different in mind, but it wondered away from original thought. In any case, since about half of items came from BIAB I think it is OK to share it here. You can bash me all you want, but not the mix. I am not grooming this monster, it has too much hair. Thank you for listening! Misha. My Own Prison
Talking walking robots Wondering the streets Scary squeaky robots watching all my dreams Creepy robot voices calling on the phone Useless #ing robots leave me please alone I am happy organic batter, sixty percent water Tireless grey matter, working surpassing quotas Hearing strange music-that never was written Filling empty space Talking walking clowns with sarcastic grins blabbering on radio and TV screens Walking in the tight suits - living carefree. Hey you dirty clowns get the #ck away from me I am happy for the grass that's growing For the wheel that keeps on turning For a rabbit that keeps on running from the sharp claws For rainbow that shows it's colors, For sisters that have brothers, For ever-changing wind rose Empty headed zombies filling up my town Siliconized zombies wearing sexy gowns Zombies at the office, zombies at the store I just want those #ing zombies out of my door I am drowning in dry deserts, burning in cold water, repeating the same phrases , circling the same orbits Setting my own limitations, building high borders I am my own prison and my own warden Tech stuff: BIAB: RealTracks in song: 1173:Accordion, Rhythm PopCalypso Ev 100 RealTracks in song: 2543:Pedal Steel, Background ModernCrossover Sw16 090 RealTracks in style: 1158:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm ReggaeSlow Sw 075 Loop in Song: HipHop\Old School - gangstar_beat_95b drums ev16.wav RealTracks in song: 3330:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm LoungeFunkChorus Ev16 080 RealTracks in song: ~1103:Guitar, Nylon, Rhythm BossaGrooveComp Ev 085 RealTracks in song: ~572:Bass, Electric, Blues BB Ev 085 RealDrums [in style:Reggae: a: SideStick, HiHat b: SideStick Busy, HiHat Various Midi, Synths of Halion, Recorded and Mixed in Cakewalk.

Well, I always expect something totally unique and creative when I listen to one your songs, Misha, and you didn't disappoint! You truly have a gift for coming up with cool phrases: "Talking walking clowns with sarcastic grins blabbering on radio and TV screens Walking in the tight suits - living carefree. Hey you dirty clowns get the #ck away from me" might be my favorite verse, but: "Empty headed zombies filling up my town Siliconized zombies wearing sexy gowns Zombies at the office, zombies at the store I just want those #ing zombies out of my door" is right up there too. Heck, they are all good! Sounds good to me. Seems like you managed to groom at least a little of that unruly monster hair

It's a CRACKER! Goes off with a bang...excellent story and full expression of frustration. Is that Katya in spots or have you really mastered Voice modulation. I LOVED it Misha: fresh, angry, excellent lyrics and a big chunk of wow.

Unique, evocative, attention grabbing.
This is just so very good in so many different ways
Adventurous, evolutionary, perhaps even revolutionary.
Great.

Really, REALLY, loved the vibe of this! There's a certain sinister undertone that plays against the bouncy beat in a way that put a huge grin on my face. I also think the instruments selection, pacing, transitions were very well done.
Gotta say, it's been some time since I popped by these forums, and this track was a great one to come back to! :-)

Dave, Thank you for kind words! You know...you can't go wrong with zombies Yeah, I am not proud of the mix, the only right way to do it is to re-record vocals, but this tune is just doodles, so I will leave it at that. - Ray, Thank you for listening and kind words! No, I left Katya out of this I singed high parts myself. Now my throat is soar a bit I kind of recycled idea of "Panacea" tune we did together in a way. - VideoTrack, Thank you for listening and your kind comments! - DeaconBlues09, Thank you for tuning in and your excellent feedback! Misha.

Misha,
A zany, uniquely creative short musical movie through that doodling mind of yours. The lyrics are so cool I could quote them all... and of course you sing with conviction and style that`s all Rustyspoon. The low harmony throughout adds a little menace and the instrumentation all works - who could look away? Loved this!

Misha,
Your music is always a listening treat.
Interesting in the instrument combinations. Interesting in the wording of the lyric - such wonderful imagery, such imaginative description. Always "unusual" without being "overly esoteric" - well done, always.
"Setting my own limitations, building high borders I am my own prison and my own warden"
...seems to me you have fewer limitations than any of the rest of us.

Your music moves me, Misha. Right from the intro I pulled my shoulders to my ears, swayed in time, and cautiously moved my eyes from side to side with my hands wringing. Man, those lyrics really add to the effect.

Hi Misha,
The lockdown finally got you, I can see. But in the most brilliant way imaginable! You warned me (us) this song would be something different, but there was no need for. It was like I expect songs from you to sound like. a bit weird, but good and touching! Your way of singing is always recognizable and so nice. Well done. I also like the rhytme of your song. I love that tough of the tropics in it. And then the lyrics. What can I say about the lyrics?
'Empty headed zombies filling up my town Siliconized zombies wearing sexy gowns Zombies at the office, zombies at the store I just want those #ing zombies out of my door '
Those lines fits perfectly for my hometown, or maybe most hometowns? Because you wrote them in New York. But I managed to get them out of my door, though my neighbours will probably tell you otherwise.
Have a nice day, Hans

Hi Misha You may have created a new genre - slightly sinister calypso. Love the lyrics, the vocal and the instrumental mix. Regards, Leon

I "feel" the bounciness of the rhythm, and the darkness of the progression and resultant melody are perfectly expressed in the title line/last phrase. It's not freedom we enjoy, but the chance to manage our own captivity. As one who does not believe in "free-will", this speaks.
