OK, I had to rush this out for my first post on FAWM (www.fawm.org) in light of last night's Super Bowl victory. It's all BB/RB -- hope it gets yo' feets ta tappin'. http://fawm.org/songs/2827/Brad

this is where BIAB and RB shine, because they provide the tools to generate songs of commentary or celebration practically in real time. I expect a lot of such songs to go viral as people circulate them after news or sporting or political events.
Anyway, good job! It was a bit boisterous for my taste, but hey, it's about celebration! One change that would please MY ears: (others may see it differently) I would prefer that the sax drop out during vocals, then fade back in when the voice drops out. But the busy-ness introduced by the perpetual sax adds to the feel of an after-game riotous time, so it may well be the right design choice for this song, depending on the feel you want to create

My toes-a-tapping and my mouths-a-smiling!
Excellent mix. Personally I wouldn’t change a thing.
It’s a keeper!

Ooops... the original link was broken. It's fixed now, the one above works, and so does this: http://fawm.org/songs/2827/Thanks for your comments, guys. Pat, I agree with you. I actually did as you suggest, cutting out or reducing the levels of much of the sax solo during the vocals... maybe not enough though. I confess to being like John Lennon.... insecure about his voice, so he always doubled it... and as you can hear, I did the same.

Very nice effort, energetic and very infectious as you had my feet tapping. The only thing I will nit pick on is your liberal use of the French phrases. As being from New Orleans I can tell you that the vast majority of locals do not speak with Cajun or French accents, i.e. everyone from New Orleans is not Cajun. But on the upside these same phrases would be well accepted in the city’s surrounding Cajun Country. Also, in now way does it take away from a pretty solid tune and performance. Nice job!
Later,

Sounds great, Brad. Reminded me of Eddy Raven when it first started.

constructive criticism as far as it ever applied to me always improved my songwriting. The old saying less is more I think would improve your song a lot.Im not a big lover of over effecting the vocal (except with some reverb or echo)but everyone to their own thing.I agree with the comment that the sax should stay out of the vocal and as Ive always loved the drums to belt out in up tempo tracks then maybe it could come up just a bit. But anyway a good listen Cheers Frankie

Thanks guys for all your comments. Tributeman, points very well taken. One of the reasons I joined FAWM this year and am writing a bunch of songs is to (finally) try and really learn the PG software, especially RealBand. To that end, I am painfully aware that I am overproducing, even cluttering, too much of the time. Folks talk about "space" in music (and elsewhere). Easier said than done, when you have all this computer power and all these great virtual musicians. I think Bob Seger wrote a line, "...what to leave out, what to leave in..." True dat.
Heck, I haven't even started to learn to use the automated faders yet.
And you are also correct about the vocal processing, which I think I spoke of already.... a common amateur's error.
