Tributeman, points very well taken. One of the reasons I joined FAWM this year and am writing a bunch of songs is to (finally) try and really learn the PG software, especially RealBand. To that end, I am painfully aware that I am overproducing, even cluttering, too much of the time. Folks talk about "space" in music (and elsewhere). Easier said than done, when you have all this computer power and all these great virtual musicians. I think Bob Seger wrote a line, "...what to leave out, what to leave in..." True dat.

Heck, I haven't even started to learn to use the automated faders yet.

And you are also correct about the vocal processing, which I think I spoke of already.... a common amateur's error.
