I use MIDI melodies on the Melody track a lot and I have not come across this problem.
Does the cut-off happen with held note or a bar(s) that have melodic movement?
In the meantime, try the below and see if it helps...
To set the render settings...
1. Select "Audio | Export Song as Audio".
2. In the 'Render' window that appears, check that the "Delay at end" is set to 2 seconds (you might want to set it to a higher value also).
3. Click on "render" (#4 on image). This will render the song and, most importantly, update the 'render' settings so that any render after these settings are changed with have these settings.
