Hauntingly spiritual sound. Robert sings this with the right amount of emotion to convey the message. Whatever that might be. The vagueness in the lyrics makes me want to return to see what my imagination conjures up next time around. Scott provides the perfect fills and the restraint in the solo works well. Strangeness never sounded so good. I really enjoyed taking the trip, Tom

Robert & Scott... Super cool!!! Amazing team work. This talks to me on many levels. Whole tune sounds very organic. Scott's guitar adds interesting and memorable acoustic (electric!) dimension. Combination of tablas and MaiTai works very well. Robert, I only wish vocals would come out more a little. You have some of most interesting lyrics I came across in music, why hide it? Spirit Level is becoming one of my favorite projects. Enjoyed it very much! Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Robert, those lyrics tell me one of two things are possible. You've either lived an interesting life or you have an interesting way of describing a more average one. I don't know and don't care.
I am stricken dumb by this lyric. "Light saw you". I'm also just a bit proud of myself for getting "zona lumierre rouge" on first listen.
The band is very tasteful and a little odd...maybe more than a little. Scott's synth and strings added to the eerie sublimely. Great work, gentlemen, that will stay with me.

I often get so wrapped up in your lyrics, since words are so important to me, that I neglect the fact a song is occurring at the same time. This is a very good song that kept my interest. The lyrics were sometimes lost to me, but I especially liked "touching broken faces in low places, mending God`s shoe"
Zona lumierre rouge: I googled it and only got the area in France made uninhabitable by WWI. Is that it, or is it the Red Light District in the Netherlands?

Yeah, you always manage to bring my spirit to a higher level, Robert. I really like how you mixed in all the parts and presented such a wonderful whole. This is a really cool idea for a song. In answer to the question: I'll take the fifth. Good one Marty... assuming the trial is in the US! Thanks for your comments. Musically this reminds me of Talking Heads and Runrig. I like the rhythm, interesting mood and intriguing melody in the chorus. Scott's playing fits perfectly with the other instruments. Great vocals and mix. Pop feeling with complex lyrics, that's my cup of tea The lyrics do not open to me totally even after many readings, but something spiritual I guess. Nothing to do with your lyrics, but for some reason I recalled a certain message: We apologize for the inconvenience Janne Janne, Apologies for the obfuscation in the lyrics... now there`s a strange word the lawyers in this song could have used! I`m glad you heard some good things in this. Hello Mr. RobertKC,
I recently watched a live stream on YouTube where people were discussing why the mini moog still is so popular even if it is almost 50 years old. Most people agreed it is because it just sounds warm in a way that newer synths havn't managed to sound.
I feel the same is true to your voice.. it just sounds really warm, intimate and pleasant in a way that I seldom hear from other singers - it is a joy to listen to your tracks because you have this rare quality.
Really enjoyed your song! Will Will, My voice is more than 50 years old and I thank you very much for that generous endorsement! Zappa meets Harrison! Mammon? From medieval to Milton....interesting, as is the entire lyric. Ultimately going with the flow is better than analysis You guys have carved out a forum niche that Janice just referred to as avant garde rock. Way cool with your vocal and guitar melding. The timbre of your voice and Scott's chops/tone really establish and keep the vibe nailed. And we're on the level. J&B I totally agree and couldn't say it any better. I liked this a lot! Thank you, Mario! Robert

Misha, That`s interesting you thought vocals were a bit lost- I remember listening on speakers and deciding to drop them back for more of a "band" sound .Our mixes are part of the back and forth collaboration; the level on this one tips more to the Robert end I think. We appreciate that you follow and enjoy our songs! Robert, those lyrics tell me one of two things are possible. Yes, way to go for not needing to look up that Red Light District reference. The odd sound is a decent match for strange lyrics?..anyway we`re glad it works for you. Your opening led me to ponder and risk pontificating: my lyrics are the result of mental beachcombing- paying attention whether life is busy or boring. Robert

well done guys, lyrics are unusual or different, but that's why we have a world of music and variety.
If it was all to be the same ..,Well we would be robbed of the magical history of music.
Wish i could find that voyage you do in your words.
Thanks

Googling lyrics while listening is not allowed... and posting your results will only make me wonder;why didn`t I think of that? Anyhow I thank you for your interest in the words; I like both the meanings you found! well done guys, lyrics are unusual or different, but that's why we have a world of music and variety.
