For those who might not understand: 'Acidized loops' can be purchased in collections or 'rolled your own,' particularly if you have the Sound Forge editor with many special tools for doing so.

An 'Acidized' file has key, bars/ beats and 'transients detected' ... the little bits of audio ... information stored in the wav file header. The file/ loop itself could contain solo/ monophonic or ensemble/ polyphonic material ... the former offering a potentially great starting point for a 'solo' instrument.

In Acid and other DAWs that support it such as Cubase/ Nuendo, 'acidized' loops offer near perfect pitch shifing + or - 7 semitones and time shifing + or - 15 t0 20 bpm.
