It is hard for us to know what you need, but if you are "starting out" you could do a great deal with the Pro version. It certainly has far more power than any of us had with this program just a few years ago, and we were able to make some pretty good music. Then, when you outgrow that, call PG Music sales and ask for their pricing to upgrade to a more powerful Pak. Or, wait until the next program update, which has traditionally occurred twice per year, and upgrade then, since they have several price points depending on what you already own.

This is a most fair company to deal with. Besides, I've always thought it was great that they did not make everyone buy everything just to start; you can ease into it.
