You did a very fine job on this one!

Hans, thanks for the thoughts. I do think there might be a woman, telling this story about the trees to some children.

As for the female voice, I have a samba feel to the song, and I keep imagining I am going to find a sexy woman from Brazil to work with that feel. Ok, not likely, but I can dream!

...but I can dream! (your reply to me)

You have to if you want to continue making music! (not necessarily about the topic you mentioned...)

Tiger,

Nice vocal performance on this . . . I generally agree the vocal does seem a bit too up front in spots, and you may want to try automating the vocal a bit as well, so that certain parts of lowered and softened so sit better in the mix. But it’s pretty solid as is.

rayc will hopefully get back to you, but I think he’s suggesting the strings are panned to one side of the song, without anything panned to the other side to balance it out. So either leave the guitar playing on the opposite side of the strings, or have the strings equally on both. I’m not listening on headphones, so again ray can probably give you more detail (and correct me if I’m mistaken).

Really good second effort!

My best to you,

Deej

Deej, Thanks for your kind remarks, especially about the vocal, as I am never satisfied with it.

Thinking now more clearly about rayc's remarks, I realized that I had everything dead center. I had never done any panning right or left. So unless the mastering software has done some tricks (that happened last time, and I switched the software I was using to master), the strings and the guitar are dead center.

Best Regards
Glenn

Glen, this is a very clever song that would do well in a children's show like Sesame Street.

Very clever lyrics and a very good vocal. Overall the mix wasn't to bad. A better blend and panning would help, but that is just my opinion. I have problems getting my mixes balanced also.

I think this is a really good song.

Whenever I get something stuck in the back of my throat, I dislodge it by drinking a beer.
It's called the Heineken Maneuver.

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

Mario, I am glad to hear from you, and I appreciate your kind remarks. I am still working on the mix and the vocals, trying to finalize and put a bit of panning in, but I feel encouraged by your acceptance of the song!

Best Wishes
Glenn
