Realdrums are editable by cut/paste. Not as much control as you are envisioning. You would have more luck with 'styles' using MIDI if you want a lot of control.

You can generate a lot of realdrum tracks in different styles and see if you find what you need, but if it's an exact hit sequence you are after you may not find it. Once generated, cutting and pasting what you want where you want it is easy enough.

I have cut/pasted a couple beats from one style to another to get a certain fill or change, so you can change a track a lot. It's just not the total control you get with MIDI. Drumrolls are hard to come by in realdrums, I think.
Endings are the next hardest.
