Bob, I've had some limited success using an iPad Mini 4 as a MIDI controller for BIAB for Windows. In my case, I installed a program called rtpMIDI which provides MIDI communication over a network connection. It worked but it took a bit of tweaking to figure out how to get it configured properly. I also had to install a couple apps on the iPad to allow it to send MIDI commands to the PC. There were big downsides to both, namely:

(1) High latency sending MIDI over WiFi - it was bit too high for my needs.
(2) The apps on the iPad caused some instability and would not always function 100% reliably.
(3) There was no touch sensitivity in any of the apps that I found (reasonably priced ones).
(4) I did manage to find an application that allowed me to use GarageBand iOS and send output from there to the PC and BIAB, but it caused some odd behavior in GarageBand where it would cause a delay of 30 seconds up to 5 minutes to open a song. It finally went away after a while.

I understand that it should be possible to use the iPad USB Camera adapter to connect to the PC directly instead of using the network, and I have it but I never got around to hooking it up. There is apparently a MIDI over Bluetooth option within GarageBand for iOS which you could use if you had a MIDI input on the PC that would accept bluetooth, but I was not able to find any current hardware that would support it for the PC.

If you'd like more details about my partially working setup, let me know.

I'd be very interested to hear of anyone else who successfully used an iPad of some sort to control BIAB. I might give it a try again some time just for kicks or just to have a secondary MIDI controller.
