The American Broadcast Corporation (ABC) television network of America did an impressive video salute to her on their nightly news broadcast.

The theme of the salute was how her singing of "We'll Meet Again" inspired not just the British troops of WWII but all allied forces worldwide as well as the civil population. The narration noted that the Queen was able to illustrate her belief that the challenges of our present time will be overcome just as the challenges of that time were met by quoting the song lyrics in her Covid-19 remarks. As a London based ambulance driver throughout the war the Queen was uniquely qualified to compare the comfort Vera Lynn provided to the belief Covid 19 will be brought under control.

The most vivid scene in the video salute was of Vera Lynn standing alone on a huge platform stage, singing into a microphone. She faced a gathering of troops so large that the crowd stretched for as far as the camera could see. As she sang into the microphone the troops could also be heard singing in unison with all their might.
