Hello all,
I'm playing more now with my Band-in-a-Box UltraPAK+ which I bought in January, and noticing that when I pick some styles from the picker that many of them have instruments in red, apparently because they are not found.
For example, I wanted to use _PMODGR2.STY (Soaring Power Ballad), and only guitar 1 is in green. The example song does play when previewing the style, but most of the instruments just aren't there. I did a rebuild, which I doubted would resolve the problem, and it didn't.
When the style is loaded in, only Guitar 1 plays. The rest are in red in the mixer.
Can someone guide me as to what could be causing this issue of missing instruments in my styles?
Using BIAB on an external USB drive. I had downloaded the files and installed them there.

I’ll first ask a basic question: are those tracks Muted? They appear in red text if muted.

Oh my goodness, yes, they were muted! I can't believe I didn't see that. But I wonder why some styles come in with some tracks muted. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Every one of us has done something dumb with this program at some time. Now it’s your turn to help someone.
By the way, if you like, you can go back to your first post and do a Mark as Resolved.

Let it ride, as I don’t know the answer to your last question. I do know that the Mute status of tracks does NOT get saved with the song (I’ve requested that it should) so that’s not it. And to restate what you already know, you should have almost everything since you have the UltraPak. The exceptions would be Bonus Paks that you didn’t buy, and perhaps the nine Xtra Styles.
Second basic question, just checking: in the Style picker dialog box, did you do the Rebuild, Slow?

I have just noticed that my mouse buttons are intermittently bouncing, but it's hard to imagine that could be causing random muting. Then again, It was only today that I noticed the muting.
I did a fast rebuild. I'll go ahead and do a slow one.
I have two other questions if you don't mind.
I found the "Obsidian" style in the picker which was perfect for my song. However, after the rebuild, that went MIA. Are there known reasons why a style would be showing as available but then proving to be no loadable?
Finally (yay!), I notice that the mute buttons in the mixer are sometimes red, and sometimes blue. Would you happen to know what these colors signify?

@steambc - I've encountered some problems in the past with missing RealTracks in BIAB UltraPAK for Windows 2018 - 2020 versions, and I've got a little cheat sheet on where to look for what's installed and present on the system (and what is not). If you think it would be useful I can throw something together and post it here. If someone already has that info or it's already out there, feel free to post the link.

The 'asterisk' icon will turn blue if the track is frozen (meaning it has already been generated and you have locked it from further re-generations). I don't recall the Mute button in the mixer being displayed in blue. Others may know more.

Thanks for that information. I'm coming to the conclusion that it was in fact my mouse causing the issues. It was clicking away on its own periodically. I had noticed it was starting to act weird while coding a website.
