Hello, forum friends I have always loved classical music, but of all the great composers J. S. Bach is my most favorite. So, this time I tried to produce an instrumental tune adapting a relatively short work from Bach's famous organ works using RealTracks. The work has been also used as the main theme of the Soviet movie "Solaris". Considering " A Whiter Shade of Pale " of Procol Harum, I arranged it to a rock piece featuring Hammond B3 organ. Any comments encouraged. Always welcome. Best regards. Shigeki Adachi Title: “Solaris” from the original composition by J. S. Hi Shigeki ... yes, a very strong Procol Harum influence once the full band comes together. I was almost waiting for gary Brooker to start singing! That was a really, really nice listen. Nice work!
Wishing you the very best. Be safe, my friend ...

Hi Shigeki, like yourself, I also love classical music and this is a superb track. Have you tried the classical harp in the backing with this ? I reckon this would work in well too. Congratulations on an excellent production my friend

Hi Shigeki...loved your track. I went back and listened to the “Solaris” soundtrack after hearing your adaptation, then re-listened to yours again...I especially liked your idea of using the church organ to back-up the Hammond organ’s lead. Overall, you created a very solid union between the world of Bach, the sound of Procol Harem, and the imagination and talent of Shigeki. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Shigeki,
I have to be honest. While I was listening to this, I began to feel a little seasick, and the room started spinning. I then got nightmare visions where we were playing a concert in Japan together and we tried to leave the stage, but a bunch of kids were screaming and crying out for more and they would not let us leave the stage.
Then, we finally made it to the sea, but there was a huge ship full of vestal virgins sailing towards us and they kidnapped us and took us to an island and did all sort of strange things to us, but we were rescued by aliens in a UFO.
I have no idea what it all means, but I am working on some lyrics and maybe we can set it to this music someday.
What do you think?

Shigeki Adachi,
A very big sound. The organ sounds great. The addition on drums and guitars are cool.
Who knew Bach was such a rocker!!
Good mix. An enjoyable listen.

I loved it after the intro though I'd be happier with less actual movement of the organ...the rotovibe style of it simulating a Leslie speaker with "movement" back to front etc but without the movement L & R. The church organ intro was a little messy with notes blurring and the layers between the decks unclear.

Alan,
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune with Procol Harum feel. I wanted to make it a little longer, but Bach's composition was so perfect that I couldn't modify it at all. I am always very encouraged by your kind words. Wishing you stay safe.
Best regards.

What a wonderful listen. It's my understanding that Procul Harum took mighty inspiration from Bach for Whiter Shade of Pale, so it's very fitting that the inspiration comes circling back through your capable hands and mind. I really enjoyed this down to that last chord.

I LOOOOOVE Whiter shade of pale. And, you've done a nice job getting that rich organ sound, although I would have pushed the reverb more! Bach is by far my favorite classical composer too.....so melodic! Really like this!! Take care. Greg

Hi Shigeki Very nicely done. By the way, there was a band called Sky who were big in Australia and the UK (featuring classical guitarist John Williams) and had a hit with a rocked up version of Bach's toccata and fugue. Worth checking out if you've not heard them. Regards, Leon

Graham,
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune. I have not tried the classical harp in the backing with this. But if I arrange an orchestra for this tune, I'd love to try it. I much appreciate your valuable feedback. I am always very encouraged by your kind words.
Best regards.

Shigeki,
Really well done . . . yes, you’ve captured the Procal Harum vibe quite well. Can’t be easy to put something like this together—you did it well. Enjoyed the listen!
Best regards,
Deej

Shigeki, A very good intro with the church organ and the change to the Procol Harum band sound works well. A very polished mix as always- could have been much longer..."the crowd called out for more"!

Shigeki, your classical writings here on the forum are fantastic. Your taking a Bach song and playing it in the style of Procol Harum is brilliant!
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
