Hello All,
I'm hoping that someone can help me here. First let me describe the problem and then I'll detail what I have done so far.
I have no audio or Midi sound when I use Real Band. Biab works fine. Midi and audio sounds fine in BIAB but if I use Real Band and try to play a midi file or generate audio and play it, I have no sound. I can see the VU meters working as though something is going to the Windows mixer. The volumes are all the way up and nothing is muted. I am using Windows 7 and I can play audio in the Windows media player and midi files in Biab. I have re-installed BIAB and Real Band 2010 but still can not get any sound out of Real Band. It is strange. I have the ASIO driver for the Zoom H2 installed and if I select the H2 device as the output I get audio but if I use the built in sound card I get nothing though it looks like audio is getting to it. I would suspect the sound card but like I said BIAB works fine as does the Windows Media player. It is just Real Band that is not working. I have looked at the audio and midi drivers tab and it seems like they are set up to use the correct drivers.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I've spent two days trying to figure this out but I am stuck.

Just a quick guess - Are you perhaps running BB and RB at the same time? If so, close BB before running RB.

I haven't been running them at the same time. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall everything from the ground up, drivers and everything, and see if I can get it working.

In Rb you have to configure the software so that it sees the synths, BiaB does this a little more automatically. First what synth are you trying to use in Rb to get sound. This will help us detail how to get that done.

Hello Mike,
Are you sure the RealBand volume isn't muted in the Windows volume mixer? (click the speaker icon in the task bar and click Mixer)
Are you sure you are using the same audio drivers in RealBand as you are in Band-in-a-Box? Does it work if you select 'MME'? What are the setting in your < Options | Preferences | MIDI | MIDI Devices > and < Options | Preferences | Audio | Drivers > dialogs (input/output drivers, dxi synth etc.)?

Usually, if you are using a USB device it disables the onboard soundcard. Double click the volume icon and see what is happening with your playback devices there.

Thank you all for the responses. I checked everything that was suggested. The MME drivers were selected and the sound mixer was all the way up. I uninstalled the ASIO drivers and made sure the MME drivers were selected and MS Wavetable Synth was selected for MIDI. I still could not get any audio from RB. Finally I uninstalled RB and BiaB and reinstalled everything from the sound card drivers to RB and BiaB. I finally got it working. Thanks again.
