Hi Folks. Here is a recent tune that I had been working on for the last few weeks. I asked Robert Cordrey to help me with it and he kindly agreed. His contribution really helped to shape this one. Taking a lead from Tangmo Band, I tapped a talented Musiola team to record Indian flute on this. Pamath from Musiola is a multi-instrumentalist and in my view a very talented one. BIAB has very slim choices on flutes & rhythm based winds. I talked with Musiola explaining what BIAB is... Parmath even recorded a couple of flute takes that I made into User Track, which I will share with the community once I mix and test it a little. My hope is that perhaps the PG team will consider Musiola for making RealTracks of winds for us. All comments are welcomed. Thank you for listening. Drunk Cupid Lyrics: Days fly by like butterflies, punching out time cards Dark memories splinter- through your aching heart Empty streets and bus terminals Empty nests of magpies Drunk cupid playing sad melodies on his magic pipe Crashing waves embrace your rock pulling hopes to sea leaving carcases of dreams as far as eyes can see Feathers once so dashing The master of your passion Stumbles under the moon. Wow, what a tapestry of sound! Those flutes really added a mysterious, eastern flavor to your brew. The vocals were "flighty", the words like fantasy winged creatures in the night, and I especially liked your octave-jump on the first word of the verse. You are using RT sounds that I've never heard, especially those opening bars--you are inspiring me to go outside of my comfort zone and experiment with some of these. Great work Misha!!

Man, what a sound! Your mixing skills have really improved in the time I've been listening to your music, just a fabulous listen through my 'phones. Flute sounds great, as does everything else.
Brilliant song, Misha and Robert, you had me right from the intro and it just kept building from there.
Well done!!

Misha & Robert,
Love that opening - cool guitar choice. Your musical choices are always inspired. An eclectic gathering of BIAB musicians. The added Indian flute is nice. A magical sound.

nice.
Always enjoy hearing your music.

Tano, Thank you for listening and your feedback! I am glad you find it inspiring in some way. I merely scratched the surface of wealth of BIAB library. There is much to explore! ---- Dave, Thank you for your feedback and encouraging words! Mix was the most challenging part of the whole process on this I memorized points you gave me on mixing couple of years back on the "levels" and try to use them to best of my abilities. Robert's and Pamath's takes were spot on, they worked from the first try. ---- Eric, Thank you for kind words! I really (really!) want Pamath to make some RT's for us. I think it would be a wonderful and diverse asset to existing library. Misha.

Drunk Cupid eh? Even if we didn't always listen to your songs it would be hard to pass by with a title like that And it just got better with the lyric. You two sound good together! Good band, nice mix and the addition of Pamath's tracks really added to the ethereal/fantasy vibe. You two might want to go down this path again... Enjoyed it! J&B

Hi Misha,
I was immediately caught by the title and the melody! "Drunk cupid playing sad melodies on his magic pipe". What a nice line in your lyrics! I can only agree with the comment of Dave. Your skills are getting much better, although you always do a great job on your songs, mixes and mastering. But even you can improve! And maybe your wife can sing along(?) The style of your singing is a bit familiair with your other songs. I do hear more Marocan influences in this song. I think the marvelous flute is the cause of this. And that drunk cupid of course! But to be serious, you made a outstanding song with this one. I will not say your best, but it gets very close...
Hans

Great collab with one of my favorite songwriters on the Showcase. Nice instrumental washes over the melody that worked well. One of your best, no doubt.

Love it!!! What a sound. I know it's an Indian flute that is being played here, but the sound you all created made me think of the Andes Mountains ... Peru, etc., that part of the world. Really, really beautiful and mesmerising, ethereal. I want more! :-)

As Musician17 mentioned...there's a touch of Andes pan pipes to the flute but that's more about the brain trying to categorize than much else. Great title, great lyrics, great collab.

Nice soulful instrumentation, the accordion and flute add another beautiful "sad melody" layer above that. Now I have to invent a song where I could use that flute RT Mysterious lyrics with good title. Nice work with the vocals, collaboration works like a dream here. Great work! Janne

Really, really nice. Splendid arrangement and a great lyric.
I'm (of course) with you on Pamath and Musiola. I don't know precisely what is involved in creating Real Tracks, but I can certainly vouch for their combined talent, technical recording ability, and all-round excellent communication and temperament. The flute is a wonderful addition. I look forward to the user track and would definitely like to see more winds added to the BIAB arsenal. I am quite sure they've not heard the last of me, and I hope PGM can work out something for all of us.

Misha,
Already being a fan of your magical, theatrical songs I`m glad to be have been a small part of this. The moment when the flute comes in is so unlike Biab, and the whole sound a great blend of playful and ethereal.Going to checkout the user track for Parmath. Thank you again for the invite!
Robert

Loved it!
That flute really adds to the overall tone of the song. Great lyrics and excellent vocal and lyrics. Fantastic mix also.
This is an excellent song.
