I'm trying to narrow down a problem to see what's wrong. When I use a volume slider on a MIDI track, the setting is not retained. The setting looks like it has been retained, but when I open the file after saving it, the MIDI track plays too loud, as if no setting exists. But the slider is still in the same spot that it was in prior to reopening the song. For example, set the "strings" volume to 77 with a slider, save the song, close and then reopen...the strings sound like they were set to volume 127, the maximum.
Now if I set the volume by using the MIDI controller command (using the MIDI controller number 7 for volume), the volume is retained.
In other words, I can't get RealBand to recognize the volume without inserting a MIDI controller function into the track.
I'm using a Ketron SD4, and this problem is new. I didn't have this problem before upgrading RealBand.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

rstill48 is this an imported midi file you got somewhere ?? often the creators of such embed control params at front of file and in various places. thus overriding any vol setting you make. sometimes best to strip these out...look in the event list or in the utility midimon.exe.
retired puter engr....powertracks on amd......NICE ! "what is the black art of audio engineering ?" my silly songs...motagator.com/bmanning see my tips in the tips section.

This is happening on stuff that I create and/or on MIDI stuff that I may have found, but I have stripped out all of the volume and other controllers before using the particular track.

If you have PTW, load the file and check again which give some indication of where the problem lies.
