Janice, Bud, Steve: "public domain" was indeed very much the wrong expression to use for what I meant! I did not mean it in a legal, copyright sense - though that's what that expression is usually used for, I know. My bad! I simply meant: I do not want to make the songs public before I think it's time ... hopefully when the whole thing is ready, if it'll ever be (so much to do in this life, so little time). That's all I meant ... genuine thanks, though, for the legal thoughts and sorry to have bothered you all on the subject without meaning to!!!

furry: yes, I see the problem with the song by Bette Middler - BUT I am absolutely adamant that the heroine in this musical project of mine will be called Rose, so perhaps dropping the "the" is enough? ;-) Anyway, thank you so much for listening and commenting!!!
