It's easier to do in RealBand because it's more visual but the process is nearly identical if you use BIAB. Doing it in BIAB does not require opening two sessions of BIAB and you can retain both versions of the track. The audio editing is done using editing tools of the Audio Channel. Either way, the Performance Tracks will get you the results you want.
