But as already said, after running that, the Win 7 shows a different filename for the Behringer box under device manager/driver thn the Win10 machine. So the driver file in that link is a package that actually instslls/contains multiple actual driver files and it installs what it sees fit OS dependant.

The Win 10 system sounds bad but the Win 7 sounds good. You have noted above that the same driver package yields two different file names and maybe drivers. Have you tried running the driver install using compatibility mode in the Win 10 system. That should emulate the Windows 7.
