Hey Everyone,
I HAVE IT SORTED!!!!!!!!!
(I think)
The MaxxAudio Pro application (which was never mentioned by any support) has a built in equalizer and other settings = enhancements.
I have just managed to change them for the headphone option settings to produce excellent audio and stop the muffled output. Zero noise, zero flutter.
Nobody from Dell or otherwise seems to know about this. I found it while looking at driver upgrades on the Dell site and while trying to find and install the missing Realtek HD Audio Manager
Far far far out!!!!
I hope I can get the ASIO driver working next and then I may try old Behringer one more time.
This is excellent, Berntd. I've been following the thread out of curiosity and hopeful that a solution would be found. It seems that my guess, in my post way back near the beginning somewhere, wasn't too far off. You've been amazingly patient and full of determination as you've worked on this. I've admired you. I'm glad there was a happy ending, Noel

Ok.
ASIO4All v2 is a big problem.
Cannot connect. And when playing with settings in it's control panel, it ruined all previoys success. All audio became noisy, all drivers !!! WAS and MME
Very bad and took a reboot after uninstall to get sound ok agsi.
Not sure what is going on with that. Last update was 2015. Maybe it is not usable nowadays?

Hi
Ok I have to ask, why are you messing about with asio 4 all now that you have it working with the Realtek driver.? I am not a fan of Asio4all. Do you not have a dedicated Asio driver for your Behringer? Or will the Was work should not be too much latency, with BIAB. Or stick to the one that does work now you have it set up.

you don't need ASIO4ALL. WAS should give you record and playback in synch with BIAB and RB. ASIO4ALL is a distraction. it's not a real ASIO diver just a software emulation designed for use for DAWs without an external interface. and yes i've had the same problem when i tried to use an ASIO driver from Creative with my soundblaster. occasionally sound would become horrendous and i had to restart and that was with a proprietary ASIO diver designed for the specific onboard sound I had. forget ASIO4ALL. WAS should work with your onboard sound so you record without latency, or maybe your REALTEK ASIO driver will now work fine. as i said ASIO4All is a distraction you don't need.
so that is the onboard sound sorted. next is to use the behringer unit with the behringer ASIO driver. i'd suggest using phones direct into the behringer when you are recording because if its like my 204HD the phones volume knob allows you to mix the BIAB output and the input of what you are playing to a balance that you like for recording purposes.
when you've not got the behringer connected revert to WAS drivers which is what i do.
seems like the laptop was the problem all along.

I have just managed to change them for the headphone option settings to produce excellent audio and stop the muffled output. Zero noise, zero flutter. This is great. Once you have a solution, keep a record of your entire setup. If you wish to keep experimenting, OK, but if things go awry, just revert to the setup that you have and you know works OK.
