I've taken a frozen RealDrums track, exported the track to my daw, duplicated the track, used EQ to emphasize a particular kit component lick the bass drum, high-hat or cymbal, blended the two tracks into a new stereo track and then imported the new track back into Band-in-a-Box.

While it reads kind of convoluted it's not that difficult or time consuming. Most of the time the default PG Music stereo mix works great. I think they do an excellent job of processing drum tracks that will blend into multiple songs.

When I do want to change the mix it's typically for only a few bars. I don't find it any more difficult than applying EQ to any other instrument.
