It's a misty winters day here and what could be better than sitting at the piano with a glass of wine ,pen and paper and a touch of reflective compositional inspiration. Doesn't the world need yet another "Luv gone wrong" song?? I'm kinda wierd but I love sad songs . Thank you for listening because otherwise my songs would go in the drawer and never see the light of day.
May I please have some of your valuable time to audition :

Just Let It Go

tempo 85 verse Em C G D
chorus C G C G .D
The band :
2747 synth
2745 synth
2291 horn section
689 organ
1841 synth
1032 guitar limited use
508 guitar limited use

Me :
acoustic piano
lousy vocals

Down by the river , that's where I found you

For a while we looked at the stars

Why do I worry , before and always

To be needing your heart.

I want to know you , I want you to tell me

Lead me to how we begin

Standing in water , hoping for sunshine

Too many fences to climb.

What is the meaning of sorrow , destiny is all I know

What is the meaning of sorrow , this is truth just let it go

Oh baby , just let it go.

I will be hurting while making my fortune

writing to you from afar

Getting of wisdom , wisdom and knowledge

boil it down to whatever it takes

We may be done with , remember me always

And I know what we have lost

Over and over , balance and falling

Baby , just let it go.

What is the meaning of sorrow , destiny is all I know

What is the meaning of sorrow , this is truth just let it go

Oh baby , just let it go.

Hi Gary,

Wonderfully atmospheric.

Some nice touches in the arrangement with the break-downs and the
different textures which come and go.

Cool lyrics, which leave room for interpretation by the listener.

Vocals were fine and a great harmony too. Maybe add a tad more reverb to
match the voices to the mix, but that's just me being really picky.

Enjoyed the whole thing.

ROG.

That is a cool tune. Most folks don't think they sing well, but that's often not the case. Your voice is fine. I was listening and enjoying it.

well done.

Very well all around, Gary. WOW, when the harmony came in it really elevated the song. Great singing, and a very inspired melody. I agree with more effect to the vocal, but it stands well on its own. Originally the word "sad" meant full of all of the emotions.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Gary,
very good composition and arrangement.
The ONLY nit is that some noise/sibilant/breaths are a little loud in the vocal track.
Easily addressed if you've the time and inclination.
Quiet/Loud/Quiet - the Nirvana/Pixies template works well for this ballad.

Cheers

Really good song and playing, vocals were fine (more reverb IMHO). The whole piece got me emotionally, which is pretty high praise. You've got skillz and they're on full display here.

Love the piano part: it creates the right mood for your song.

The harmony in the chorus is particularly effective.

Thank you Ezekiel.
I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.
I feel a bit guilty because I have recently discovered and am enjoying
your music without commenting . This forum is a treasure trove for inspiration and ideas and your music is a big part of the mix.
Sorry for the rant and thanks again.

Very nicely done!! I also love sad songs......been married for 35 years and all I ever write is love gone bad and break up songs.....can't help it......hopefully my wife doesn't let it get to her! Love the arrangement, vocals, harmonies, and those big synths......have not used those and will have to check them out.....BIAB is amazing! Take care. Greg
