Misha and Ray ...

Beyond cool! Certainly not typical Reggae ... maybe Alt Reggae? Not sure if that's really a sub-genre or not. But, it should be!

Very creative and lots of fun! I always love hearing something new and different. I play around with mixing various styles quite often and like the quirky results I get on frequent occasions.

Excellent ... loved it!

Best to you. be safe ...

Alan

Alan,
Thank you for giving this time and your feedback! I agree with you 100%, I squeeze more fun out of experimenting, than trying to write something in specific genre.

Wow, great work guys!! So creative and unusual. Misha, loved the vocals, especially the "say-hay" and your little spoken interjections. It was fun to listen to. Beautiful musical texture that you wove.

Thanks Misha. I had read a few of his quotes in a book that Bud’s sister had given me but then I started reading more about him and more of his poetry after Leon mentioned him in a song of his and Peter’s. So we both have Leon to thank!

Hi Misha,

I was away for some time. Now I'm listening to a lot of new songs on the forum and there was your song.
A very pleasant song, I can asure you! A nice slow reggea rhythm with a chordprogression that remindes me of 'Down Under' from Men at Work.
You have made a bright recording from the vocals! And I read that the 'whooshh-sound is done by Ray. Very good of him. I thought for a second to get my coat (joke).

The title expressed what the lyrics are about. A very lonely story, but so well sung!

Have a nice day,
Hans

Tano,
Thank you for listening and your supportive feedback!

Hans,
that is funny you mentioning Men at Work. Ray mentioned this too, but I purposely did not want to listen to Down Under, not to get influenced while I was recording. After you mentioned it, I decided to take a listen since this tune is completed. This was probably a well known song. For some strange reason, I do not believe I ever heard it. Why would they copy me?
Thank you for listening and your kind words!

Hello Rustyspoon,
It's good to find that reggae vibe. The vocals are well done and this composition is fresh. The arrangement is special because the tablecloth is at the same sound level as the vocal but fits perfectly into the mix. Well done.

Misha & Ray,
I`ve come to expect the unexpected from any Rustyspoon tune and this delivers that and extra smiles for the great lyrics ( I`m glad others have noted gems there), married to an original almost-reggae band.
I thought the chorus vocals, the melody being a little more straightforward, really shine.
Very cool song!

Wonderful lyric and delivery. Very entertaining production. Nicely mixed and worked well at mid-volume. Definitely a keeper.

Nice Collaboration.
The vocal is great.
The reggae is mixed with a little blues, and it has a very unique feeling.

I think they had a crystal ball...
But where were you all those years? You missed that gigantic hit of them, sorry, yours?

Stay safe,

Robert,
Thank you for giving this time and your positive comments! "almost reggae band" smile

---
Tangmo,
Thank you for your feedback! I find that tunes that come without a lot of suffering usually turn out better than the ones I babysit for many hours.

Shigeki,
Thank you for your kind comments!

Hans,
I was probably hibernating smile It is always fun to discover / re-discover interesting tunes from the past.

Misha & ray...

What a beautiful opening! Then the addition of guitars elevated it further.

Your vocal is a delight. Sits perfectly. The rhythmic combination of instruments and voice has a Men-At-Work feel. Loved it. Additional vocals add nicely, too

The mix is excellent.

This is the complete package. Excellent. Exceptional music.
