I have not been here for a long time. You guys just keep getting better.
I have always enjoyed learning the meaning of certain words and phrases from the blues world of the distant past. How the world of blues music existed in the time of Robert Johnson and people like Son House has been an on going learning process for me for many years. Understanding the language and the culture provides a much deeper connection to the music.
I am somehow not surprised you guys really understand this.
There were little thing in the music that were spot on...the timing of the guitar in relation to the vocal. Some people "assume" these type of songs are easy, they are anything but easy.

You very eloquently stated that connection Over the last couple years the three of us have recorded a lot of blues and while I always enjoy writing blues and I equally enjoy seeking out interesting old blues. We recently became fascinated with Ma Rainey and recorded a couple of her songs. And thanks for noting some of the Tune’s nuances. Peter is very good at working with a Janice’s vocal and vice versa. Excellent in every respect. The opening guitar lick made me sit up to listen and I was hooked all the way through. Amazing vocals.
