Here is the first draft of my newest BIAB/RB song. It is an original and everything was done with BIAB and RB. It is about barrel racing, a rodeo event for women. As usual, everything is up for critique - Lyrics, Vocals, Production, Mastering, etc. This is one of the songs I plan to pitch to publishers, producers and my rep at ASCAP to hopefully get something going for me as an artist. Anything you can point out that would help me would be wonderful. Obviously it isn't pro level, but I want it to be close enough so that folks can hear the potential. Thanks to everyone for your kind words. Two concerns have come up that I am hoping y'all might address.
1) Who is the "he" in the second verse?
2) The guitar solo in the bridge is pushing it a bit. I couldn't find a guitar solo that was closer to the sound of the rest of the track, and I personally like that sound, so I put it in. Do you think it is too......"hard"?....for the rest of the song? Is it too far off of the rest of the track?

Well it was obvious to me that the he was the horse. Personally, I liked the solo for what it's worth. A lot of modern radio country these days seems to have musical "surprises" that tend to be on the rock side. In the end it's your gut call. If in doubt take it out.

Ricky,
Great song. The guitar after the fiddle may just be a placement in the mix thing - or it could just be the sound of the guitar. A couple of times I have actually taken a fiddle part and ran it through a guitar amp and stomp box plug in and got some pretty good sounds - so you're not always limited to just the sound of the real tracks. There's something about the guitar in the intro - sounds muddy - or it may be the distortion on the guitar. Other than those two spots -for me it is a super mix - greats vox - very mainstrean modern country - wonderful work.
