Hans

A really nice well written (loud) rocker. Very strong vocal, and some great dynamics.

Excellent work.

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Hi Misha, I was a little late in replying the posts on this song. There were reasons, but still; Sorry!
You gave a very nice reply on the song. thanks for that. But it are these EQ-s that bother me most. I turned everything down. included D-es plugins. I think I just have sharp vocals...
Maybe you should help me on that one day?

You're approaching ice pick frequqncies on some of the vocals.
The 1st chorus, actually all of the choruses, bvox could be a little tighter.
Well done.
I'm not sure if you had this really loud or the ice pick did appear...my brain hurts.

Hi Ray, look what I wrote Misha (above). Same counts for you, despite one thing. I know you can really exaggerate. To me it seems impossible to hurt your brain. It can only tickle a bit...
But thanks a lot for all your comments!

Hi Janice and Bud, I am so fond of what you wrote And that picture! Look what I had to write to Misha and Ray. Can you understand why they always complain to me about hurted brains and EQ-issues? I doubt if they read what Janice sais about my voice. And of course she is right about that, because she sings all stars from heaven (a Dutch proverb). I pasted her text on my wall!
Thanks for your words!

Hi Tom, now you start mentioning that eq too! No, I am in a mellow mood now, I think. I am really fond of what you wrote and the EQ is a nasty issue for me. My tinitus has the same frequency so it's a bit difficult to hear this right. I am trying to and please continue telling me if I did something wrong or whatever. I learn from this. Maybe slowly, but steady...
So thanks a lot for your nice response!

Thanks and stay safe overthere,
Hans

Unrelated to anything, the expression is "needless to say". My favorite malapropism of that phase is "needles to hay". smile

I think David's comments about the song itself reflect almost exactly what I was going to say. I got more of the Talking heads vibe. As David said, that's not a bad thing. Your strong, powerful vocal delivers the message and mood perfectly. Really cool tune! Liked it a lot.

Best to you. Be safe ...

Alan

Hi Alan, I prefer Janices' observation on the vocals, although I can live with the comparison with the Talking Heads too!
Beside that, thanks for your words. And I am so glad you didn't mention the EQ...
And about the needles, has that something to do with my song? I examined the lyrics and couldn't find any of them.

Cool solos.

I like it!!!!

Hi Floyd, Gee, thanks for this nice post! It hangs on my wall near to that sentence from Janice!
But you mentioned the EQ too...
Look what I wrote to Misha (my post before this one). It almost let me make an appointment with my shrink.
But trust me, I'm working hard on it, but I can't promise miracles ;-)

Hi Scott, this is a wonderful reply. Thanks! You didn't even mention that EQ thing. But are you ironicall about that label? Others say I have a very loud voice (while I am always a 'soft' speaking man). But thanks for your reply.

Hello Leon, thanks a lot for your comment. And I will continue rocking, although I am now working on some more serious stuff too.

Have a nice day everyone,

Hello Peter, thanks very much for your kind words.
But when I see the word 'loud' between braces I'm getting a bit 'suspicious'... Was it too loud, you think?

Nice day,
Hans

Good imagery, yes, corona time seems to give inspiration for many songs, so it is not a bad thing after all smile Sometimes it feels being in a jail or nightmare, but on the other hand, so does whole life once in a while laugh

Very nice jumpy breaks in the rhythm, giving the song claustrophobic feel - just like being stuck.

I like this type of songs where the chords are mainly major in the verses and then some minor chords in the chorus, maybe the melancholy talks to me. The chorus is very good and catchy. Good rocking band and the fiddle fits nicely to the rhythm. Very good confident singing, you are getting better all the time.

Janne

I love the band you made. The opening bars really hooked me.

I particularly like this line: "Can I wake-up or pay me a bail?" Good!

Hi Janne, thanks so much for your kind words, although... claustrophobic... I think stuck is good enough.
No I'm kidding a bit. It was my plan to make a song abouth a dream I coudln't get out. A kind of nightmare you are aware of, but still cannot wake. But I got some problems on the lyrics with that and the made the connection with that virus and how we are forced to live now.
And your last sentence is making me feeling very proud.

Thanks for that,
Hans

Hi Ezekiel, nice way of telling me you liked the song! And it's funny you quoted that line. The moment it came in my head, while writing the lyrics I liked it too. And when singing it even more. I could almost see me bargaining about it.

So thanks a lot,
Hans

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
