RayC always has excellent comments. After reading what he had to say on 'Point Break' I could see what he was getting at and so I have adapted it somewhat to produce this 'vintage' version. I replaced the digital reverb and delay with spring reverb and tape echo. I took out the overdrive pedals as I figured that those original surf guitarists didn't use them much. Instead, I cranked the amp setting to 10.
I also added some 'tape drive' in the mastering to give it more of a 'vintage' feel.
The 'old' vs the 'new'. I think the 'vintage' version has more punch.

This 'vintage version' has now been deleted from Soundcloud. After listening a few times I think I prefer the original mix. The vintage mix sounded more authentic but was not really 'me'.
