<< "when I want to (audio) record in BiaB. the signal seems to be there, but not recording takes place... and with the same set up, it works in Audacity... Is there a check to set or suppress somewhere?" >>

Yes, there's a check in BIAB that has to occur to save recorded audio. Audacity doesn't require that step.

In BIAB when recording Audio:

There are two recording buttons with BIAB. One for audio and another for MIDI. Be sure you select the audio button. I'm sure you are since you're seeing the signal but mention it for beginners who also may have an issue recording audio. Your signal path through the Line6 audio interface is properly connected and working correctly because you're getting the guitar signal.

When you stop the recording, a window appears and you have to select to 'keep take' in order to save the recording. Otherwise, that recording is discarded. Since you are seeing the signal, that's the only other step I'm aware of to save the recorded take.
