That's an interesting statement to me, as I also think of some scales as "OK, it's this scale with a different note" .. so I'm one of the weird ones that can relate to that.
Bugs the crap out of some musicians I work with.

I have a theory that anyone who can discuss music theory is a bit different than most.
So how they interpret it is often different too. That's what makes music fun; it's not a rule/law but rather a theory.
