This is dedicated to all falling angels of the back street bars and Pasadena Texas honky tonks.

This was written on acoustic guitar which is not common for me. For all you BIAB aficionados, everything is directly from BIAB except for the vocal.

Perfectly sung with that good ol' country sound. This is your last country song? Man, I gotta get out more. This is the first one I heard, Billy, so I got some catchin' up to do. Can't wait for what's next.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you Charlie. Little by little, I am learning a bit about BIAB.

Thank you for the kind words. I see you have been to Iceland. I took Icelandic Airline from New York to Luxembourg about a zillion years ago. I stopped over for three days in Reykjavík. Icelandic was known as the "Hippie" airline back in the 60's for their low airfare. That's what got me to Europe the first time I went. Four engine radial prop plane that vibrated all the way to Europe...lol

Cheers,

Billy

Good ol' country played and sang exactly like it is suppose to be sung and played.

Excellent.

PS - I helped out a band by replacing their lead guitarist for one night in a bar called The Do Drop Inn!

Thanks Mario

I do the best I know how...sometimes chicken sometimes just feathers...lol

This a strange song for me to begin with. I don't drink and the only way to get me in a bar is to pay me to play there. Been happily married to the same woman forever and never was one to run around much even before I was married.

I do know Mickey Gilley and have been to that Honky Tonk a time or two, and no I never rode the mechanical bull there...lol

Here is a super funny song about the DO Drop Inn. charlie daniels 'uneasy rider' 1973 https://youtu.be/JoVL1Zs6WTw

There are a bunch of places called the Do Drop Inn in many states.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Is that country or western he jokelying ask....

I was trying for country, defined by, at one time at least, a deep, earthy, and universally respected genre of folk music embraced by people from all walks of life, and performed by heartland poets who wrote touching melodies and thought-provoking but subtle messages about life, love, and loss.

I am certainly not sure if I hit the mark as I am not well known for being subtle.

I also have listen to and most likely been influenced by the volumes of what now passes for country music coming out of Nashville.

It's not that I don't like the new music, I really do, it's just not country.

Sounds like the real thing to me, with some good lyrics and a nice vocal to boot. Some of the hesitations in the melody lines I wasn't so sure about, but that's a minor quibble. Very good work!

Thank you Greg for the kind words. Sorry for the late response. I have had a lot of issues at the farm to deal with. Retirement is just a idea that has not been very consistent...lol

Thanks for the feedback. I have done a bit of new work on the vocal to have it better phrased. If I ever get it like I want it I will repost it.

Thanks,

Billy
