Ray,

I really like this song and it's got a super groove to it. Those driving guitars and drums are just great. If there's something in the mix or technical production to tweak its above my pay grade.

Since you didn't specify what feedback you wanted, may I offer a couple suggestions on the drums and a stylistic element? I think the drums could be spiced up a little bit, if you wanted to go that way. Some pauses or maybe a couple "big" fills during some of the peak vocal parts near the end of a phrase - something like ba da ba da ba da da da BOOM (I didn't count this out), to really bring it home, or possibly a hold the drums for part of a measure and then bring them back in at key points. Another suggestion is to vary the volume of either the vocals or the drums more at certain key points to increase emphasis and tension.

The reason I bring this up is that to my ears, I hear a fairly "straight on" delivery of the sound throughout the song, and I think it's more interesting when there are dramatic moments injected.

If the song structure and sound fits your intention, then by all means stick with it. I don't want to be crossing the line of artistic license. Regardless of my suggestions, the song is great and I look forward to hearing the final version.

Sounds great!! I think the drums may be able to come up 1-2db....subtle? Nicely done!! Take care. Greg

Hi Ray,

that's cool - liked it even better with my second and third listen.

Like I said before, I'm not the sound guy - all I can say is, 'Sounds really good to me!'.

Don't know what I might recommend to add or change...

Take care,

Stefan

Ray, everything you put up always sounds great and this is another example! I love the melodic complexity here and as others have stated, your mix is very good! Take care, T

My two cents:
Driving drums worked well.
I'd like to hear the vocals a little more clearly.
I think they are fighting for the same space that the guitars occupy.
I am listening on some bass heavy phones that might be clouding my opinion.

Just gave this a listen in the studio on my monitors.
I'm still in the camp of thin vocals.:(

Ray,
I hope your neighbors survived this one. Powerful stuff! Very creative progression. Lyrics are very good. Vocals are A+. I am no mix advisor, but as average ear, I would say that drums are a little buried in the mix. I might be wrong on this, but it seems you are trying to make the mix somewhat unified, squashing some frequencies. Perhaps if you leave some dynamics "free range" it would sound fuller? In any case, a very nice track you cooked. Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Hey, we are a bit late to the party ... apologies.

We like the mix. For us the vocals are sitting at the "right" gain for the genre. They are neither buried nor out front.

The drum mashup sounds good.

Janice pointed out how much she likes your phrasing in the chorus and, trust me (Bud) she pays big time attention to such things smile

So...zero nits or suggestions from us two!

Hi Ray ...

Well, sounds finished to me. I don't really see a need for a lead guitar part ... and I'm a lead guitar player by trade. What I listen for in a mix is the balance of the panned tracks and can I hear each track individually within the mix. I may not be the right person to make that assessment, but it sounds fine to me. Nobody is crowding anybody else's space and the vocals sit where they should for the genre. That's what came across to me as I listened.

Take care and be safe ...

Alan

G'day Ray

Even though my intentions were good , I came across as way too pretentious and I apologize.
cheers

It sounds really smooth to me, even for a punk rock punk type song. I think you're almost at perfection. Nice.
