I last had BIAB opened on an external monitor attached to my laptop. With the monitor disconnected BIAB won't open on the main screen even though it is running.
On my laptop when I disconnected my external monitor I had to get into Windows and make the laptop monitor the #1 screen. I think that is what Matt is saying. Just because your monitor is not connected doesn't mean that Windows knows that it is disconnected, i.e. you have to tell Windows that the external monitor is no longer available. Doing this should solve your problems.

Only one display is available in Control Panel. Windows doesn't see that there are any other monitors at the moment.
If Biab is not minimized and running but on the other screen that is not plugged in this will move it to your mouse pointer when you use the hotkey LWin+Z. If you are running Biab As Administrator:
reconnect the external monitor and correct the problem by closing BIAB now that you can see it on the other monitor. I have seen this very odd behavior before.

Normally the easiest way to get the screen back is to go to Display settings and change the screen resolution to something different than the current setting. After you OK that, the window usually comes back and you can set your resolution back. I think Windows just refreshes all current apps open when you go into those settings.
