Info/Specs:
Win7-64
Intel Core i7
16 GB Ram
BIAB-2021
Roland Sound Canvas SK88 Pro
Problem!
1: After loading several "all MIDI" files and upon hitting either the PLAY or GENERATE button, BB sends some type of command to the Sound Canvas that lowers the volume of all MIDI tracks and the THRU track to almost zero.
2: The same thing happens when I load a MIDI/AUDIO file. (The audio tracks play normally but all MIDI track volumes are drastically reduced!).
3: In recording one chorus of a 12-bar blues melody, my THRU track and the MIDI track volumes were all reduced as soon as I hit the record button.
In all three scenarios, I sent a GM reset to the SC88 the volume levels were all restored and the files played properly until I hit the STOP button, at which time BB reduced the volume again.
The same files play normally in Real Band 2021 as they did in BB and RB 2020.
Any ideas?

Hey Art, There is a few issues like this that PGM is aware of and patches are coming to eliminate this and several other issues.
HP Win 11 12 gig ram, Mac mini Sonoma with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2025, Realband, Reaper 7, Harrison Mixbus 9 32c , Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app.

(UPDATE 12/3/20 - after installing bb2021 patch 803);
The MIDI Volume problem is still present.
I read through the list of fixes and, although I didn't see my volume problem specifically mentioned or itemized, I thought that it may have been included in the bullet point titled, "Fixed: Issues with Miniature Mixer Mode."
Presently, every song that I open or start anew, the volumes of my THRU MIDI keyboard and all of the MIDI tracks are dropped to a level where they can barely be heard.
Initiating a manual "Send GS Mode On Message (Roland)" immediately restores the volumes of my THRU MIDI keyboard and all MIDI tracks but as soon as I hit the STOP, PLAY, or GENERATE and PLAY button, all MIDI related volumes are immediately reduced again!
Whew! This situation is really negatively affecting my BB related work.
Thanks in advance for any kind attention that may be given to finding a "Fix" for this problem.

I had this or something like it, but only early in testing.
It’s been ages, but isn’t there a setting in BIAB to send GM, GM2 etc messages automatically?

I haven't seen that setting but, short of a "fix", an "auto-send" might be a workaround with which I could live. Perhaps somebody in the chat may know where that setting is and chime in. I'd love to try it.

Yes, I've had two of those buttons ticked "on" all along...
Auto-Send GM Mode On at startup
Auto-Send GS Mode On at startup
However, despite the state of those buttons, something is causing the program to reduce all MIDI volumes as soon as the program starts up. A manual "send" command issued from that same window is the only thing that restores the volumes of my THRU keyboard and in-program MIDI channels--but that only lasts until any of the TRANSPORT buttons are hit.
However, I've heard some good news!
Blake (from PG Music) says they've been able to "reproduce the problem and are looking into a solution."
So I'm hoping I'll be able to go back to BB 2021 sometime between the next update or two. In the meantime, I'll continue using BB 2020 to get my work done and teaching sessions conducted.

The bug has been fixed for build 804. For sanity purposes: the bug was controller 74 (brightness control) being sent instead of 64 (sustain pedal) when stopping playback, or booting up Band-in-a-Box.
