Can somebody explain what does this mean: "removing a audio plugin because this track (7) no longer outputs audio" as seen in yellow pop-up 0.17 seconds into the video?

Hi,

In your video, the Melody track is selected, and that's why the RT instrument is applied to that track.

For the Plugin being removed message -- that is referring to the Soloist track (7) which indeed does not have audio on it. Perhaps you previously had audio on that track... it's not entirely clear to me what happened there.

1) On the video, it shows me right clicking on the track 4 to select RT and it places it on track 6.... Or "melody" if you prefer it. The problem is that I did not select the 6 (Melody) track, I right clicked on 4th. I assume that is exact same problem MikeK and others are facing. RT picker selects WRONG track., not the one that user "right click"s on.
That was the main purpose of the video...

2)For the "removing a audio plugin because this track (7) no longer outputs audio" message... I do not believe I had audio on that track. Done factory reset, restarted program. Chose a random style. Clicked regenerate. That message is still popping. Should not be there. Can anybody else confirm same popup message?

1) Correct. I assume so as well.

2) Strange, I cannot duplicate that at the moment, but will keep an eye out for it. Seems like it's just a spurious message...

I posted this and you can see the selected track Guitar 2 don't change but it adds a new track with accordion.
All I said was have a longer beta so xmas time is joyful.
We are here to help, I go off at times and tell the truth but 90% of the time I go out of my way to help others and PG !

I messed up something in the latest beta, compositions are not loaded fully, only one track.
I am fixing this bug and will upload an update in a few hours.
I am terribly sorry, it is more and more difficult to build a compatible 3.9 version due to the drastic internal changes. Beta48 will be the last update that is supposed to be compatible with the v3 versions.

I will gladly send any earlier versions to anyone if needed.

Thanks,
Attila

It don't work anymore to be closed, users get angry because of non communication and no openness, just be honest and open like the above quote, you can't get angry at that, you feel for them.
Neither confirm or deny secrecy don't work.

Andrew,
so how to fix this?
Opening a "new" file does not solve this.
Resetting to factory (full) does not fix it as well.
Reinstalling latest Patch (804) does not do it either.

What else to try?

I haven't had a lot of time to play around with BiaB and the VSTi but last night I got the same error message. Unfortunately I glad to see that I am not alone. No matter what I did the error message kept coming back.

Life is short so make sure you spend as much time as possible on the Internet arguing with strangers.

Hi Rusty,

I had the same issue with "removing audio plug-in" and RT creating on the melody track.

When I tried "running BIAB as Administrator" it worked...

Perhaps worth trying?

Mario,
I am not alone! For second there I thought it is a payback for my recent "meatball" post.

Pete,
Thanks for trying. I do run BIAB as admin.

"meatball" I do the same and go off because of frustration and disappointment, feeling let down after putting so much time and effort to make things better. A lot of users appreciate you telling the truth but others are over protective, see it as an attack and would like you to go away, this keeps PG way behind. I have seen it for over 10 years here an I still see it today.

"....see it as an attack and would like you to go away"
ha ha. Not so fast. I am taking all my vitamins.

Pipeline, you got to admit that a LOT have changed in PG software in the past couple of years for the better. Yes, it seems hard to try to convince certain folks to view some things at a different angle, but doable. Not that it makes me feel good, but if the price to pay are some deleted posts, I would not cry over that. I do feel for PG as he is in the middle of things... I can only imagine how hard it is to keep the balance between software and music and at the same time trying to satisfy old time followers and tuning software for modern world....for a relatively small company.

I think PG team figured out the music part (RTs) pretty well, the software part is what needs to be addressed. There are still a few big items on the wish list, but overall BIAB is packed with so many features that I do not know if Peter remembers them all himself smile
I mentioned aesthetics in another post. I believe that specific part is what needs to be looked at closer. Much closer. Not in the sense of "prettifying" things (that too), but design and a better organization of menus and functions. In my opinion, it is one of the most easiest things to do out of all, but simply gets overlooked. And of course fixing bugs and completing unfinished items.

P.S. Pipeline, 2020 was a tough year, I am sure most of us have certain pressure buidup. You are appreciated here, don't let some ignorant people get inside your thoughts, they have their own "pressures".

Amen ! you are right, I pick things up way too much, I think about someone I haven't seen for years then the phone rings and it's them !
I'm just too worn out from it all these days I think frown

You posted an example of how the Plugin GUI could be and I was very impressed with it. You don't see others users come up with examples like that except for VideoTrack's concept video

Boys, my thread!

Andrew or anyone, seems like I am not alone with that "audio plugin" error. Besides these:
Opening a "new" file does not solve this.
Resetting to factory (full) does not fix it as well.
Reinstalling latest Patch (804) does not do it either.

What else is there to try?

Thank you.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
